At The Ballroom World of Dance, we emphasize not only the importance of dance instruction, but the importance of community, self-esteem and well-roundedness. This is especially important for children and teens. At the BWD we want to provide not only a safe and fun place to experience what is, in our opinion, one of life's greatest joys-dancing, but also a place to build important life skills and confidence that will serve them for the rest of their lives.
As we've all been teenagers, we can all sympathize with the challenges that come from such a vulnerable time for both young men and women. In today's world, the challenges seem even greater for our teens who are venturing into adulthood faster than we'd like to admit. From too much technological dependence, to college applications and then the not-so-simple task of growing up, teens have it rough. At the BWD, we work to balance these challenges with dance. We offer youth and teen classes and programs to help them through what can be a very exhilirating yet confusing time in their lives. The Ballroom World of Dance tries to provide our teens with a new skill to learn (dancing) coupled with exercise, character building, exposure to other cultures and people, a sense of belonging and a wonderful philanthropic outlet that works to help them learn about themselves while earning school credit for community service. Our instructors provide endless support and encouragement and the Ballroom World of Dance family values the commitment that our teens make to both our studio and dance.
Many of our teen students have taken classes to fulfill a cultural need such as for Quinceneras, Bat Mitzvahs, and Prom, but also just for the fun of learning! Take a look at our photo gallery to see more events our children and teens have participated in!
In today's competitive world, exposing children to various outlets of self-expression at a young age is becoming more and more important to their future success. At the Ballroom World of Dance, we work to create a safe and fun atmosphere where children can be introduced to the timeless activity of Ballroom Dance while building important skills (such as proper etiquette and respect) and strong friendships. We have already observed tremendous success with our youth team (including our 4 year-olds who can Cha-Cha with the best of them). Let us know how we can dazzle your child with the art of dance!
From Relay For Life to Denim & Diamonds, teens have many outlets at the Ballroom World of Dance to reach out to others while building their college resumes with unique skills and a stronger sense of self. Please check with us for all we have to offer.
